Grade 6/7 Chalkboard Drawing

Grade 8 Watercolor Painting

We are one week away from our annual Halloween Journey! There are still many opportunities to support this magical event. You can contact Ms. Nelson (heather@waldorfsantabarbara.org) or Jillian Provan (805 259-5306). The 8th grade will be holding a bake sale at the event and would appreciate any baked goods donations. Please label and drop off items on Friday. Thank you!

We will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos on November 1 during the school day. This beautiful tradition honors those who have passed away. You are invited to send in framed photographs of loved ones for the altar. Please make sure the photographs are labeled so that they can be safely returned after the event.

We will soon be offering school lunches to our Grades students through a local organization, Locally Grown Kids. We plan on starting a pilot program for the remainder of the calendar year on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. With this service, parents choose, order, and pay online. There are several fresh organic options for each day. Please look for the link coming soon!

Additionally, the 8th grade will be offering Pizza on Tuesdays for the Grades as a fundraiser for their Spring class trip. Sign ups will be posted this weekend.

The order deadline is Sunday, October 27 at 8 pm.

CALLING ALL “GNOMES AND FAIRIES”

We know it’s not easy to commit to a whole year on a school committee, but we are hoping that you will be part of our Gnomes and Fairies list for community-oriented tasks and asks! Kindly RSVP to this email and indicate your preferred area of interest and skills! Some options include, but are not limited to: helping to organize the faculty library, gardening, setting up or breaking down for Halloween Journey and Winter Faire, etc.

A sign-up list for next week’s Halloween Journey requests will be out soon!

With gratitude,
