Parent-Child Circle Overview

A parent's love imparts to the child a way of meeting the world. Elderberry Parent-Child Circle fosters a community of warmth and support for parents, and an atmosphere of joy and respect for young children.

Each week we discuss relevant topics in child development and discover sources of inspiration for life at home. Special attention is given to supporting the unfolding of your child's interests, motor skills, social interaction, and problem solving skills. Parents are treated to handwork projects with natural materials and are supported in creating a nurturing play environment for their children.

Lap games, nursery rhymes, songs, and puppet shows are part of the morning.

Toddlers will delight in picking herbs for tea and kneading bread dough for our freshly baked snack.

Program Details

This program is available for parents or other caregivers.

  • Age range: Toddlers (Ideally one year old/walking to 3 years old)

  • Format: Once a week per session. 7 week sessions.

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

  • All classes take place in our Parent-Child classroom and Early Childhood play yard at The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara.

  • Registration is for one child. If you will be bringing more than one child, you will need to register for each of them.

FALL 2025 

Wednesdays:
October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and November 5, 12

Thursdays:
October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and November 6, 13

WINTER 2026 

Thursdays:
January 15, 22, 29 and February 5, 12, 19, 26

Fridays:
January 16, 23, 30 and February 6, 20, 27 and March 6
*no class February 13

SPRING 2026

Thursdays:
April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7, 14, 21

Fridays:
April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, 8, 22, 29
*no class May 15

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds are available for cancellations received 7 days before the first class of the session (minus an $18 processing fee).

For parents that sign up for a class after it begins, the tuition is prorated based on the number of weeks remaining in the session.

​Waldorf Santa Barbara reserves the right to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances.
