Teddy Macker (Community Development Coordinator)

Teddy Macker served as co-administrator at WSSB for two years and now helps with fundraising, enrollment, communications, and campus maintenance. He holds a BA (English) from Tufts University, an MFA (Creative Writing) from UC Irvine, and was the Reginald S. Tickner Writing Fellow at the Gilman School in Baltimore.
Before joining WSSB Teddy taught literature and writing at UC Santa Barbara for seventeen years. Teddy is the author of the poetry collection, “This World,” and his writings appear in Front Porch Republic, Los Angeles Times, Orion, Tablet, Tin House, and elsewhere. Teddy serves on the board of Greater Goods, a nonprofit art center in Ojai. Teddy also wrote policy and speeches for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during Kennedy’s presidential campaign.
Teddy lives on a farm in Carpinteria with his wife and two daughters.
