Liz Collins is an herbalist, Yoga teacher, massage therapist, and Integrative Holistic Health Counselor. She has her BA in Sanskrit and South Asian religions from Evergreen State College and is currently enrolled at the East West School of Planetary Herbology in the Clinical Herbalist program. Liz became a certified yoga teacher at The Center for Yoga of Seattle in 1995 and then traveled to India to study with the founder of her lineage, BKS Iyengar. She has spent the past 10 years in the Shadow Yoga lineage with her teachers Scott Blossom and Matt Pesendian. She is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is an Ayurvedic practitioner who guides clients through seasonal cleanses and offers support through nutritional counseling, herbal allies, and lifestyle practices at her office in Carpinteria.
Liz loves to bring the joy of gardening, seed saving, medicine making, and cooking to the children at Waldorf. Liz's daughter, Heron, graduated from WSSB and now attends Midland School in the Santa Ynez Valley. Her son, Rowan, is in Ms. Nelson's class. It is her great joy and blessing to be a part of the system of mutual nourishment and care that is the shining WSSB community.
