Inspired by the universal healing capacity of storytelling, Jennifer Harman received her bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Broadcasting and Film, with a concentration degree in Chinese language (Mandarin). Following graduation, Jennifer pursued her first love of dance, continuing her storytelling journey through movement and music. Jennifer danced professionally with regional companies on the East Coast and Los Angeles for six years, after which she transitioned into the realm of mind-body movement and meditation therapies. Jennifer holds professional certifications in yoga, qigong, energetic healing modalities, and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).  Jennifer has more than a decade of experience working with adults and children in Los Angeles, Iowa City, and the Santa Barbara area, having taught and facilitated sessions in yoga centers, health clinics, dance studios, park and recreation programs, conferences, schools, and one-on-one with private clients. This work, along with motherhood (and her work as an EC teacher), continually expands Jennifer’s capacity and appreciation for deep listening.

Jennifer found out about Waldorf education when she was pregnant with her dancing daughter, a middle school student, who has attended WSSB since kindergarten. Continually inspired by the beauty and depth of Waldorf education, and her love for the WSSB community, Jennifer began working at WSSB in 2021. She is grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve the community in her current role as Assistant Preschool Teacher. Jennifer holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education. A lifelong learner, Jennifer looks forward to furthering her knowledge and growth as a teacher. In her free time she enjoys eating nourishing and delicious food, handwork and crafts, singing and musical pursuits, reading, exploring the indigenous traditions of her ancestors, communing with nature and contemplating Life’s great mysteries.
