Hillary Lowenberg was born and raised in Washington, D.C. At the University of Vermont she obtained a degree in Environmental Studies and worked with youth and urban agriculture. Hillary followed her passion for connecting children to the natural world by working with farm and garden-based education programs in Portland, Oregon. She wanted to deepen her relationships with children and pursued a dual masters degree at Southern Oregon University. She received a Masters of Art in Teaching and a Masters of Science in Environmental Education. Hillary's passion for arts-integration and reverence for the earth led her down the path to discovering Waldorf education. Hillary has been working as a Waldorf class teacher for 10 years now. She attended Micha'el Institute in Portland, OR  and the Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, CA.

Hillary is passionate about Waldorf education and how it nourishes and supports the development of the child. She is so excited to join the Santa Barbara Waldorf school as the first grade teacher this upcoming school year. Hillary loves to hike with her labrador retriever, kayak, raft, swim and adventure!
