Heather Nelson
Heather Nelson has been teaching for over 20 years. She studied Environmental Science at the University of California at Berkeley and began her teaching career as an outdoor educator in Northern California. For six years her classrooms were oak woodlands, redwood forests, and mountain streams. Ms. Nelson has also worked as a wilderness guide, taking children on extended backpacking trips in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. In 1999 she took her first teaching job in the classroom and soon received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. After moving to Santa Barbara in 2006, Ms. Nelson received her Masters of Education from Antioch University and trained at the Waldorf Institute of Southern California.
